My Story
Hi there, I'm Kara Troglin.
I'm an experienced trauma-informed yoga teacher, educator, writer, and yoga therapist.
Seward, Alaska is my home. A tiny seaside town surrounded by mountains and a temperate rainforest located on the Kenai Peninsula.
Yoga has been an invaluable healing resource in my life. As a trauma survivor, it opened up pathways to recovery where I felt empowered and connected.
It is a passion of mine to share therapeutic practices that also support students in their healing journey.
My focus is to make yoga accessible to each student's individual needs and honor their lived experiences.
I am passionately dedicated to trauma-informed space holding, inclusivity, and accessibility.
My teachings are a fusion of rest, psychology, neuroscience, and evidence-based practices. I teach with a nervous system approach and the integration of the Polyvagal Nerve Theory.
I also have experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, including offering trauma-informed yoga classes and wellness retreats.
I strongly believe in the importance of community care and integrating this work into our communities to support connection, collaboration, and safety. To honor and respect the wholeness of our shared humanity.
In class, I offer variations, celebrate choices, and weave in the science of yoga.
You will experience a compassionate and empowered space as a reminder you are more than enough.
Currently, I host nature-based yoga wellness retreats called Nourish in Nature in Seward, Alaska.
You can also practice with me through my online offerings, workshops, and digital courses. Including my online trauma-informed yoga membership Thrive where I offer weekly live-streamed classes.
I am greatly inspired by the work of my teachers.
I have trained and studied with numerous yoga teachers, yoga therapists, and psychologists in the mental health field.

"Kara’s smile is contagious. She has a wonderful disposition. Very easy to talk to, laugh with, and take instruction from. In the one on one time I have had with her, she has been extremely patient with me and supportive."
- Jennifer
Seward, AK
Kara has led me through meditations and yoga asanas. She also introduced and guided me through multiple yoga nidra sessions.
I have learned so much from her throughout the process. She taught me about the benefits behind the practice and discussed the different states emotionally and physically I may experience.
She’s a very intuitive teacher and emotional guide. I’ve learned and grown from her and am looking forward to practicing more yoga together!
